My Life and Religion, Who am i?
February 11, 2008 — Gopala Guru
I was born in Durban, South Africa at the Hare Krishna Temple in Chatsworth. I was born into a very devotional family on the 8th of February 1991. From an early age I’ve been reading and learning from various devotional books, such as Bhagavad-gita and many other ISKCON books, including other holy scriptures, such as the holy Quran and the holy bible.
Krishna has always been a steady point in my life, though I was given the freedom of choice. Most people that are born into a religion stay in that religion because it is all that they know, or it is the one they know most about. I was given the opportunity to explore, that’s when I read the bible and Holy Quran, and by my knowledge of both and also of other sects of Hinduism, I found that there is truth in all these religions.
Srila Prabhupada never denied the truth of other religions; however he always explained that Sri Krishna is the Absolute truth. In the Holy Bible, Lord Jesus preaches “pure love of god” and also, in the famous “The Lords Prayer” it says “Hallowed be thy name” by “Hallowed” we understand it to mean “Holy”.
Our Father, who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy Name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.
My understanding:
“O my Lord, in his Glorious abode,
by your holy name alone
I can easily attain the happiness of heaven
right here on earth,
And after this life I shall come to your abode”
Similarly the Holy Quran has many names for Allah the Almighty and each of these names are packed with the full power of Godhead.
Just as in the Prayer by Lord Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu:
O my Lord, Your holy name alone can render all benediction to living beings, and thus You have hundreds and millions of names, like Krsna and Govinda. In these transcendental names You have invested all Your transcendental energies. There are not even hard and fast rules for chanting these names. O my Lord, out of kindness You enable us to easily approach You by Your holy names, but I am so unfortunate that I have no attraction for them.
Chanting is one of the most prominent parts of my daily life. You may be wondering if I’m so involved in other religions why I am still in Vaisnavism (Worship of Lord Krishna).
Simple, Jesus Christ plays a very important role in my life, he thought us love of God, and I therefore consider myself a Christian because I follow in the footsteps of love of god and Jesus.
Allah and Krishna are one and the same, Just Different names for the Same individual. Therefore I am a Muslim.
I am able to integrate Both Christianity and Islam into my life because they teach us the Basics of what the ideal Human Being Should be, and they teach us about god and his glories. However in the Vedas, in Krishna Consciousness, it shows us our personal relationship as eternal Devotees of the lord, it teaches us not only of the glories and names of god, but also of god’s pastimes, his dress, his features, his personal relationships.
It teaches us his names, and the various loving relations we can experience with the lord, such as parent, friend, devotee, and lover, whichever we so much desire. We learn of the intimacy and form of the lord that can be learnt from no where else.
Gods name is Krishna (most attractive), His Abode is called Goloka Vrindavana, His Mother is mother Yasoda, His Father is Nanda Maharaja, His Brother is Balarama, and His Consort is Radharani. His Complexion is the blackish blue of the rain clouds in the monsoon seasons; he wears a spotless yellow dhoti with a flute in his belt and a peacock feather in his hair.

This is just a small description of the sweet lord, a full description is given in the Brahma Samhita of his home, personality and pastimes. Downloadable here —-> Sri Brahma Samhita
My Sweet Lord Sri Krishna Ki Jai!
You may think at the beginning that I said this was going to be my life story, however I hardly spoke about myself, that is because, in the end KRISHNA IS MY LIFE!

Hi
Whilst I laud your devotion and could not possibly challenge your personal conviction. Most “Christians and Muslims” would consider you to be misled in your understanding of GOD IS ONE.
I prefer to have a dialogue with any &all, and believe that spirituality is uniquely personal.
With that in mind; Thank you for informing the reader about Krishna.

Goranga! and thank you for your comment, however as i believe from what i have been taught from christians and muslims themselves is monotheism, ther is only one god, and from the scriptures we can conclude that he has many names, so if u call him jehovah someone else calls him allah, and i call him krishna, we are all calling for the same person.
Just as i am gopala, my friends call me leo, my parents call me pops, these are different people with different relations towards me and different names yet the resultant of these names is that they are calling the same individual…
the same for God! Different Religions, Different Relations, Different Names. For example, Christianity regards God as the father, in Islam He is the Majestic Almighty, However in Krishna Consciousness he is EVERYTHING.
Thank you again for your comment.

Thanks Gopala
I have been meaning to express my understanding of God as One. When I do will give you a shout.
Cheers and don’t let me dampen your enthusiasm, I’d rather be speaking to you than a bigot.
